Hutzulian Watercolours by Sofia Mycyk
There are two Community Concerts for your enjoyment in December. The first is December 11 at 2:30 P.M. at Walker Place, 3701 Bryant Avenue South, Minneapolis. This will be an interesting piano concert given by Sofia Mycyk, who is a Doctoral student in Piano Performance, at the University of Minnesota. Sofia has performed many places in Minnesota since her arrival here. She has an album, entitled Hutzulian Watercolours featuring solo piano music by Ukrainian composers.
Compositions she will be playing include a piano transcription of Tchaikovsky's Scherzo from his 6th Symphony and Schubert's Piano Sonata in D Major.
December 12 will feature Susan Jones, oboe (with a small ensemble), Laurie Patton, flute, and Kristine Denton, piano, who will be giving a program at Walker Methodist Highview Hills, 20150 Highview Avenue, Lakeville, MN. They plan to perform Christmas-related music.
Both of these venues have room for extra visitors, so feel free to visit either of them!
