The end of the year brings Thursday Musical Artist Series two potpourri concerts featuring a wide array of performers. The November 21st concert features an eclectic group including Young Artist Scholarship Winner Jackson Brown (clarinet), Scotty Horey (percussion), Salam Murtada (piano), and Dragan Stojkovic (violin). Our December 19th concert features the Nokomis Piano Quartet, Monica Murray (soprano), and Esther Wang (piano). These concerts feature music from Handel to self-composed pieces and will be an absolute joy to behold! Both concerts will take place at 10:30 am at MacPhail.
The New Year brings two roaring themed concerts: ‘I Dreamed a World’ and ‘Fire and Ice: Music from Warm Places.’ ‘I Dreamed a World’ will take place at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd at 10:30 am. ‘I Dreamed a World’ explores the words of Langston Hughes and features pianist Kristine Denton with violinist Holly Ager, The Fremont Trio (debut), and soprano Tara Priolo (debut). ‘Fire and Ice: Music from Warm Places’ features Young Artist Scholarship Winner Charles Gannon, Duo Harmonia, soprano Kristin Griffeath with guitarist James Flegel, and pianist Susan Hellerud to warm up your fingers and toes. ‘Fire and Ice’ will take place at 10:30 am at MacPhail.
Don’t forget to come by 10 am for free donuts and coffee before the concerts! Bring a friend and enjoy some fantastic morning music!
