January 2023 Uptempo

Artist Series Winter Preview

The next Artist Series concert is just around the corner on Jan. 26th at MacPhail.  The 10:30 am concert will open with cellist Daniel Keeler and guest pianist Nathan Kennedy playing a newer piece by John Williams (yes, the Star Wars John Williams)  and David Popper.  Scotty Horey will present a variety of percussion music, ending with Minotaurus, a marimba showpiece by Leander Kaiser.

February and March concerts are at MacPhail at our usual morning time as well as the first concert in April on the 6th.

If evening concerts are easier for you to attend, mark your calendars for our concluding concert at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd on April 20th concert at 7 pm.  It's always special to hear an organ and this final concert will feature organist Carolyn Diamond, along with soprano Monica Murray and pianist Salam Murtada.

Vivace Initiative

Hello Dear TM Members,

Here is an update on our Vivace Initiative 2022-23.  We have received many generous contributions. Thank you.

However, we have about $1,000 to go if we are to reach last year's total of $6,725. If you are thinking about contributing, I encourage you to do so soon. Any amount is helpful.

The Vivace Initiative fundraising campaign targets our operational expenses and is crucial to the financial health of Thursday Musical. This is especially true now, as we continue to recover from the effects of the pandemic on our audience and membership numbers.

Thank you again.
