President's Welcome

The 2023-24 season of Thursday Musical concerts are about to begin!

Our 132nd season of Thursday Musical Artist Series concerts begin 1030am Thursday, October 5th at MacPhail Center for Music.  Fourteen live concerts are scheduled from October to April, concluding with a Young Artists Winners Concert on April 20th . Exciting!

Known for pursuing excellence, and for investing in and showcasing local talent, Thursday Musical plays
an important role in the musical life of our community. The mission of Thursday Musical is to engage and enrich audiences of all ages with great concert music and to support young, upcoming musicians.

I have been thinking about the Thursday Musical community lately. How does it feel to be part of a vibrant performing arts community? How does concert-going enrich one’s life? My answers?
“Wonderful!” and “In so many ways!”

I think each of you can come to similar conclusions yourselves!
As you plan your calendars for this fall, winter and spring, be sure to mark down all the upcoming concerts. Please see our entire season online at thursdaymusical.org.

And don’t forget – Thursday Musical members can experience the live performances they miss by viewing “Concert Replays” later on YouTube.

So, that’s it. That’s my message. Short and sweet. I encourage each of you to be a part of this music-loving community. Come join me and the large circle of music lovers and fine musicians for a wonderful season of concerts!

Thursday Musical Membership: Connection - Collaboration - Renewal

Welcome Back to a new season of Thursday Musical concerts! As the summer wanes and we return from vacations, lake cabins and city parks, we transition back to connecting with friends at indoor activities, and Thursday Musical concerts are one of the best activities for renewing these connections!

One of the things we learned from the pandemic (and I’m looking forward to the day when we can stop referencing that time!) is that connecting in person is essential to our well-being, not to mention essential for music making!  Musicians are reveling in returning to in-person music preparations and concerts and its time to renew our commitment to enjoying live concerts and supporting the musicians that present them!

In the spirit of renewing connections and celebrating live concerts I want to challenge every member to personally invite a friend who may not know about Thursday Musical to join you at the concerts you attend.  The impact of a personal invitation to an event is invaluable! Reconnect with a friend you may not have seen for a while and share the beauty of a Thursday Musical concert.  We continue to pursue regrowing our membership (post-pandemic) and we know that personal connection and “word-of-mouth” is the best way to introduce people to our wonderful organization and concert events.

I look forward to seeing you at “coffee and donuts” prior to the concerts!!

-Monica Murray, VP I Membership

Welcome to Thursday Musical's New Intern

We are pleased to announce we have an intern for this season, who will be helping out on various concert series & online applications. Meet Tic Treitler (they/them):

"Hello!

My name is Tic Treitler. I am a Non-Binary actor and opera enthusiast from St.Paul MN. I graduated from Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists and will be attending the University of Minnesota BFA Actor Training Program this coming fall. I have performed at local theatres including the Guthrie Theater, Children's Theatre Company, Theater Latté Da, Lakeshore Players Theatre, etc. I was introduced to opera when I joined the cohort of the Youth Opera Studio at the Minnesota Opera in 2022. I am so excited to begin working as an intern at Thursday Musical."

Please give Tic a warm welcome if you see them at our concerts or our Young Artist Scholarship Competition
