Performer Information
Faith Farr is a founding member of the Minnesota Sinfonia and an active free-lance performer. Currently, she teaches cello exclusively in her home studio. In addition, she self-publishes Foundations for Music Reading, a string-based theory curriculum for violin, viola and cello. With Brian Wicklund, she co-authored The American Fiddle Method for Cello, published by Mel Bay. As long-time editor of MNSOTA’s String Notes magazine, she has won six consecutive national ASTA awards for Best State Newsletter.
Gene Swanson, composer, performer, and teacher, currently has studios at K&S Conservatory and his St. Paul home. His playing experience ranges from Scandinavian folk music to classical, rock, and jazz. He co-founded the all originals sextet J. P. and the Lava Lizards, and served as guitarist and composer. Gene has a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Minnesota, where he studied with Jeffrey Van and James McGuire. Gene currently serves as Guitar Chair for Minnesota Music Teachers association. More of Gene's music can be heard at his website geneplaysguitar.com.
