Performer Information

Soprano Ilah Raleigh shares her passion for music, performance, and cultural studies with audiences, her fellow musicians, and her students.  Ilah’s opera credits include performances with Washington National Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Minnesota Opera, and Orlando Opera.  She has been a featured soloist on the MacPhail Spotlight Series, An die Musik “Live! Concert Series,” Academy of Art Concert Series, Peabody Thursday Noon Concert Series, and with Opera On Tap in Minneapolis.  Ilah has performed with Orlando Opera and Cabaret Espresso Productions on several concert tours through Central and Northern Florida, and with Peabody Opera Theater on opera outreach tours in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia.  

Ilah is the Vocal Arts Department Chair and lead Vocal Arts teacher at Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, a performing arts high school in downtown St. Paul, MN.  As a private voice teacher, Ilah is sought after among high school students preparing for college, current college music majors, and professional performing artists. 

Ilah’s training includes a residency with Orlando Opera, BASOTI in San Francisco, and a two year stint in Milan, Italy, where she studied with famed mezzo soprano Giulietta Simionato.  Ilah earned a Master of Music, Vocal Performance, from the Peabody Institute in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated Phi Beta Kappa in Italian Studies (BA) from the University of Minnesota.

Peggy Doerrie serves as Principal Flutist with the St. Cloud Symphony (since 1990) and Northern Symphony (since 2003) and has been featured as concerto soloist with both orchestras.  She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Cornell College and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Flute Performance from the University of Minnesota.  Solo recital work with Thursday Musical, Schubert Club,  Hauenstein Series, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, American Swedish Institute and Benefit Recitals.  Chamber playing has included Lametti Chamber Winds (quintet), Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theater, Flute Choir Tour to France, Kenwood Trio, Northern Star Flute and Guitar, Windsong Duo (flute & harp), and FluteSpiration Quartet (four flutes).  Active as a flute instructor, chamber, and church musician in the Twin Cities area for many years.  Peggy has served on the Board of Directors of both the Upper Midwest Flute Association and Thursday Musical.  www.peggydoerrie.com
