Peggy Doerrie, flute

Peggy Doerrie serves as Principal Flutist with the St. Cloud Symphony (since 1990) and Northern Symphony (since 2003) and has been featured as concerto soloist with both orchestras. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Cornell College and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Flute Performance from the University of Minnesota. Solo recital work with Thursday Musical, Schubert Club, Hauenstein Series, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, American Swedish Institute and Benefit Recitals. Chamber playing has included Lametti Chamber Winds (quintet), Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theater, Flute Choir Tour to France, Kenwood Trio, Northern Star Flute and Guitar, Windsong Duo (flute & harp), and FluteSpiration Quartet (four flutes). Active as a flute instructor, chamber, and church musician in the Twin Cities area for many years. Although Jim Reilly is best known to Thursday Musical audiences as a collaborative pianist he performs regularly as both a singer and solo pianist. In one capacity or another he has appeared in over twenty states as well as Norway and Holland. He is the Music Director Emeritus at Mindekirken, and has an extensive repertoire in Nordic music. He has performed at the Alliance Française of Minneapolis/St. Paul, The American Swedish Institute, the Danish-American Cultural Center, the Schubert Club Landmark Series, The Leif Eriksson International Festival, The First Unitarian Society of Madison Concert Series, and many other local venues.


Beatrice Giere has appeared on many of these programs as a soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist, since joining Thursday Musical in 1975. She has performed throughout the Twin Cities, including the Ordway McKnight Theatre, the Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center, and several times on Minnesota Public Radio. With tenor Jim Reilly she has performed at the Nordvendt Series, the American Swedish Institute and the Landmark Noon Series among others. They have frequently given concerts in Madison, WI, and in have performed together at the Nordland Musikkfestuke, a music festival in Bodø, Norway. Ms. Giere, a former piano instructor at Macalester, maintains an active teaching studio in St. Louis Park.
